Dassault Systèmes Design Challenge 2012

Dassault Systèmes and AutoDesign&Styling, supported by the civic association Czechdesign, announce the second edition of an international competition for young designers. The theme is very free, only restricted to the requirement that the idea should be in the form of a “scenario”. It is set in Prague as an important European city, an inspiring place with a rich history, and a potential seedbed of future trends.

Local Motors - Peterbilt Truck Design Contest

Peterbilt Motors has teamed up with Local Motors to launch a new online competition, the Peterbilt Road Icon Generation 2 challenge.

The challenge is to design the next generation Peterbilt Icon, using existing elements of the cab to create a more aerodynamic, modern and stylish product. Designers will have the support and feedback of Peterbilt designers and engineers throughout the submission stage.

"This has been an exciting partnership," said John B. Rogers, Jr., President, CEO and Co-Founder of Local Motors. "We believe the community will create a truly amazing work of art for Peterbilt."

Participants must submit their work by midnight on 26 June, with voting beginning on 28 June and ending on 8 July. The winner will be officially announced on 23 July.

Peterbilt will award $15,000 in prizes, with the winner, selected by the Peterbilt team from the top 10 community-voted entries, receiving $7,500. The designers who are awarded second and third places in the community vote will earn themselves $2,500 and $1,500 respectively. Those who complete the top ten results will receive $500 each, also selected through a community vote.
